About the Class:
Unleash your creativity as you embark on a journey into the world of clay. These classes are open, meaning semi-guided. Fundamental instruction will be given at the beginning of class for all participants by our skilled instructors, you'll learn to shape, mold, and craft your very own masterpiece— all while immersing yourself in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
You will then have full access to the instructor for the duration of the class. This includes: hands-on help, general knowledge, inspiration and specific guidance for the piece you are working.

Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to reignite your artistic spark, our Open Pottery Class is designed for all skill levels. No prior experience is necessary; just bring your enthusiasm and eagerness to create. Our skilled instructors will walk you through every step, ensuring that your artistic vision comes to life..
It typically takes two drop in classes to complete a finished piece—the first for creating the form and the second for glazing (colour, decoration, etc).

Things to Remember:
Please check in at reception upon arrival. Be sure to bring a piece of ID while checking in. Clothing will likely get dirty so keep that in mind for dress code. If you want to use an apron, feel free to bring one however you can use one of ours for $2.

To bring your art home, it will have to be fired in a kiln after being made. Kiln firing hardens the piece so it can be functionally used. There is a small firing fee. Extremely oversized pieces may be charged a higher firing fee. You are not required to fire or glaze your piece, you can come just for the experience and we will recycle your clay at the end of class if you choose to do so.
Fired clay pieces can be picked up during regular business hours. Firing takes two weeks to complete, after which we will keep your piece in storage for 4 additional weeks. We do not provide bags or boxes so make sure you bring your own during pickup, if multiple pieces are expected it may be wise to bring packing material
